Project summary
Engaged by Ventia to support the staged decommissioning and replacement of the 6.6 kV MCC 861 at BHP Finucane Island. Works were executed within a live operational plant, requiring controlled isolation, temporary generation supply and structured cutover sequencing to maintain continuity of critical equipment — delivered in line with BHP and Ventia shutdown and safety frameworks.

- Appointed S26 electrical supervision
- Deployment of experienced HV/MV electrical personnel
- Controlled isolation and temporary generation supply
- Structured cutover sequencing on live plant
- Testing and commissioning of control I/O with OEM vendors
- Structured multi-shift execution to meet the shutdown program
OUTCOME
Replacement completed within the shutdown window and in line with BHP and Ventia safety frameworks. Continuity of critical equipment was maintained throughout, with zero safety incidents.
